Aspire Active Camps Sutton Coldfield runs at Bishop Vesey’s Grammar School from Monday 26 to Friday 30 October 2026.
Full-day childcare is available from 8am to 6pm, with Multi Sports Academy for children aged 4 to 11 and Active Leaders for ages 12 to 14. Four-year-olds can attend for a maximum of four hours per day.
For parents who need to work, it offers Ofsted-registered holiday childcare while children spend the day being active.

See a family show at Sutton Coldfield Town Hall
Royal Sutton Coldfield Town Hall has two family shows during half term.
LDN Wrestling Half Term Spectacular takes place on Monday 26 October, with the show running from 7.30pm to 9.30pm.
Then on Wednesday 28 October, Calipso’s Circus brings circus acts, comedy and family entertainment to the Town Hall from 4pm to 5pm.
Both are listed as family-friendly, but check current ticket availability before booking.

Try some spooky fun at Kingsbury Water Park
Fancy getting outdoors with a Halloween twist?
There are two family activities listed at Kingsbury Water Park during half term.
Spooky Campfire & Games takes place on Tuesday 27 October from 12pm to 1.30pm. Families follow a spooky trail before heading to a campfire, with Halloween games along the way. It is listed for children aged 5 and over.
Then on Thursday 29 October from 10.30am to 12pm, Spooky Staffs gives children aged 5 and over the chance to create and decorate their own spooky staff using natural materials.

Give junior golf a go at The Belfry
For children who enjoy sport or want to try something different, The Belfry is running Junior Golf Camps during October half term.
Sessions take place on Wednesday 28 October from 10am to 1pm and Friday 30 October from 2pm to 5pm and are suitable for children aged 7 to 16.
The sessions include golf coaching, games, friendly competition and multi-sport activities.
Places are limited, so check current availability before booking.

1. Get outside at Sutton Park and other local parks
One of the best things about living near Sutton Coldfield is the amount of green space nearby.
Sutton Park is the obvious choice, and for good reason. There’s plenty of room for walking, cycling, exploring and letting children burn off some energy without having to organise a full day out.
Pack a picnic, take scooters or bikes, go for a walk, look for wildlife or let the children choose the route for once.
But Sutton Park isn’t the only option. You could also try:
- Rectory Park for a local walk, play and some fresh air
- New Hall Valley Country Park for walking, cycling and nature spotting
- Pype Hayes Park for plenty of open space

Magic Mayhem Science Show runs from Monday 26 to Friday 30 October, with shows at 11.30am, 1pm and 3pm.
There is also a LEGO Coding and AI Workshop during the school holiday, Wizard Bubble Shields on Wednesday 28 October, and Meet the Science Magician plus a Hocus Pocus Planetarium screening on Friday 30 October.
Aston Hall
Aston Hall is another option if you fancy a history-based day out.
It is open Friday to Sunday from 11am to 4pm, which means Friday 30 October works well as a half-term visit.
There is also an Astonishingly Aston Friday Tour at 12pm that day, included with admission.

Ackers Adventure
For something more active, Ackers Adventure offers activities such as climbing, kayaking, skiing and tubing.

Drayton Manor Resort
Drayton Manor is running Blazing Halloween during October.
Alongside the rides and attractions, families can enjoy a Trick or Treat Trail, spooky entertainment, a Thor vs Loki Fire Show and an end-of-day lake show.
The Revenge of the Haunted Express is available as an additional ticketed experience and is recommended for ages 4 and over.
If you want to extend the fun into the weekend, the end-of-season fireworks take place on 31 October and 1 November.

4. Have rainy day ideas ready
You can plan an outdoor day, and then the weather has other ideas.
It helps to have a few indoor options in mind.
That could be swimming, a cinema trip, a museum, soft play, indoor climbing, pottery painting, a library visit, a theatre show or a craft session.
Staying at home works too.
For younger children, a baking morning, den-building afternoon or make-your-own cinema day can turn a wet day into something they still enjoy.

Children can make clay leaves inspired by the changing season. Tickets are £3.50 per child, with the activity lasting around an hour.
Halloween museum activities
Taxidermy in Action takes place on Monday 26 October as a family-friendly drop-in activity.
My First Museum Tour: Halloween Edition runs from Tuesday 27 to Thursday 29 October and is aimed at younger families looking for a child-friendly museum tour.
There is also The Big Draw on Tuesday 27 October, giving families another chance to get creative.
