2022 has been a busy year for us here at Aspire.

From new launches and partnerships to awards and recognition, there’s been no shortage of memorable moments to celebrate. 2022 has seen us:

  • Engaged 70,000 children directly and 400,000 indirectly through our training and partner offer.

  • Worked with 216 schools and delivered 19,000 hours of activity provision.

  • Supported circa 130 apprentices.

  • Supported 156 young people through the Kickstart scheme.

  1. A Recovery Curriculum
  2. Inspiring Early Years PE, Physical Activity and Physical Development
  3. Teaching an Enriched Primary Gymnastics Curriculum

  • Formed a new strategic partnership with CIMSPA.

  • Organised and delivered The Active Primary Schools Conference – the biggest to date.

  • Attended the West Midlands Leadership Awards 2022 where Luke Johnson, Aspire Active Partnerships Manager, won the prestigious Young Leader award.

And not forgetting our evolution from Aspire Sports to Aspire Active Education Group!

We’re incredibly grateful to our valued customers, inspiring partners, supportive community and of course our talented team for making the year 2022 a special one.

So, before we could wrap up for Christmas, a team get together was in order to celebrate, catch up and say thank you.

Last Friday, the team headed to DropShot in Birmingham. We started with workshops, moved on to company updates and awards, exchanged some pretty innovative Secret Santa gifts, and ended with pizza, pool and ping pong.

Awards

A huge congratulations and thank you to our Autumn term award winners!

Value awards

Congratulations to our Value award winners for their commitment to Aspire’s six values: Be inspirational, Make an impact, Celebrate success, Drive innovation, Do the right thing, and Exceed expectations.

WOW Factor

The WOW Factor award celebrates a team member who has gone above and beyond. Nominated and voted for by the team, the winner this term is Michael McMahon. Michael worked incredibly hard during our Ofsted inspection to support the team through the process. All of Michael’s help and support during the inspection was outstanding, he was always on the end of the phone if support was needed and helped other team members develop in their roles.

Team DNA

Based on the number of opportunities identified to support schools and the total number of children impacted as a result, our two Team DNA winners are:

  • Cameron Harris, Educator
  • Maurice Wright, Lead Bikeability Instructor & Educator

A brilliant day to wrap up a brilliant year. We’re excited for what the next 12 months hold, but first a week to reflect, relax and enjoy the festivities!

See you all in 2023!
