Today, Aspire is celebrating its 18th birthday and, in those years, has grown from being solely a sports and physical activity coaching provider working in schools to delivering Ofsted-registered Active Camps, to developing our training framework, Aspire Training Solutions and finally to Aspire Active Partnerships, a network we established to support and collaborate with UK-wide organisations in our sector. We have also updated our company name this past year as the services we deliver and the programmes, resources and products we create have shifted focus. We're still strong advocates of sport and its positive impact on children and young people. However, we must also consider and reflect on physical activity and its positive impact. Our name change from Aspire Sports to Aspire Active Education Group captures this progression.
In recognition of our growth, in November last year Aspire Active Education Group was named Birmingham Business of the Year at the Birmingham Awards for our work tackling child inactivity and creating employment for young people in the region and, for the second year in a row, Aspire also won the education engagement award for its impact on apprenticeships at the Greater Birmingham Apprenticeship Awards.
We sincerely thank our schools, parents, and partner organisations who have supported us. Your unwavering support has been instrumental in making our initiatives a reality. Together, we have created opportunities for children to lead active and healthy lives, and for that, we are truly thankful. We are also grateful to the thousands of children who we have worked with over the years. Your enthusiasm and sense of fun have been the driving force behind our success.
We would also like to thank our amazing and dedicated team, who have worked for us over the last 18 years. Your hard work and expertise have made it a fun and enjoyable experience, and your commitment to serving children and communities has been truly inspiring.
As we embark on our 18th year, we are excited for what lies ahead. We are confident that this milestone will propel us to even greater heights. With the continued support of our incredible community, we will build on our achievements and create even more opportunities for children to thrive physically, mentally, and emotionally.
