Primary PE and school premium to continue

We are delighted to inform you that the Department for Education has announced that the Primary PE and School Sport Premium will continue for the next two academic years. This is great news for primary schools and pupils across the country who will benefit from the additional funding to improve the quality of PE and sports opportunities.

In addition to this, DfE and No.10 Downing Street have also announced a new initiative to level up girls' access to sport, which we believe is a fantastic initiative to promote inclusivity and gender equality in sport. Furthermore, there is a call-to-action for schools to offer 2-hours of PE each week for their children, which we fully support as physical activity is crucial for children's overall health and well-being.

There will be a new digital and best practice toolkit to complement the Primary PE and School Sport Premium. This will provide additional resources and support for schools to improve the quality of their PE and sports programs, which we hope will be beneficial for your school and pupils.

As schools up and down the country will be starting to plan how to spend their funding effectively, we would like to encourage you to benchmark your PE, sport and physical activity provision. The best place to start is to complete this scorecard, which will give you a detailed insight into your current provision and areas where you can improve.

As always, we are committed to supporting your school in providing the best possible opportunities for your pupils.
