Active Primary School Conference

APSC roundtable discussions

Our upcoming 'Active Primary Schools Conference' is right around the corner - a treasure trove of insights, inspiration, and bespoke strategies designed to revolutionise sports education and combat the children's physical inactivity crisis!

But this year, we've gone the extra mile. Keeping in mind the profound importance of the AfPE's 5 key indicators, we've introduced a new feature: roundtable discussions.

Now you'll have the opportunity to delve deeper, exchange thoughts, and arrive at transformative strategies that align with these critical yardsticks for the present condition of the primary education field  Let's take a moment to understand what is a roundtable, and how it can skyrocket our potential to make a lasting impact in our schools. A roundtable, in this context, is a lively, democratic discussion where every participant contributes equally. It's a place where we allow the shared passion for sports and children's well-being to take us forward. Rooted in principles of mutual respect and open-mindedness, a roundtable is an arena for in-depth conversation, collaborative problem-solving, and innovative idea generation.

Our roundtable discussions will focus on:

Increased confidence, knowledge and skills of all staff in teaching PE and sport
Engagement of all pupils in regular physical activity
The profile of PE and sport is raised across the school as a tool for whole school improvement
Broader experience of a range of sports and activities offered to all pupils
Increased participation in competitive sport
