Friday 4 September brought Team Aspire together at Sutton Coldfield Tennis Club for a team training day packed with learning, connection, recognition and a little healthy competition.
It was a brilliant chance to step away from our daily routines, reflect on our progress, reconnect as a team and celebrate some of the people making a real difference across Aspire.
And, of course, there was time for some friendly competition too.
Reflecting on our progress
We started the morning with a company update, looking back at what we’ve achieved and sharing our focus for the months ahead.
Our team training days give us valuable time to come together, share ideas and make sure we’re all moving forward with the same energy and ambition.
They’re also an important opportunity to reflect on the contribution our people make to Aspire.
Taking the competition onto the court
After the morning’s updates, it was time to swap presentations for padel rackets.
The team headed onto the courts for a competitive padel tournament, bringing plenty of teamwork, determination and friendly rivalry to the afternoon.
A huge congratulations to our top three teams:
🏆 1st place: Henry and Dave
🥈 2nd place: Joolz and Oli
🥉 3rd place: Lewis and Brian
There was plenty of competitive spirit on show, but most importantly, it was a great chance for colleagues to have fun, work together and connect outside their usual roles.

Recognising people who make a difference
We rounded off the day with our Values and WOW Awards, recognising team members who have gone above and beyond across Aspire.
Huge congratulations to Andrew Stanton, our WOW Award winner, recognised for his flexibility, work ethic and commitment across Active Camps, EAC26 and Swim:ED.
We also celebrated our Values Award winners:
Steph Donovan for her drive in bringing the Care Activator Coach programme to life.
Harvey Web for his flexibility, hard work and support across learner delivery and Active Camps.
Amy Gilluley for her key contribution to the development and delivery of Swim:ED.
Letitia Lea for her commitment to Active Camps and leadership of the EAC26 programme.
These awards are a great opportunity to recognise the passion, commitment and impact our people bring to Aspire every day.

A great day for Team Aspire
From reflecting on our progress to battling it out on the padel court and celebrating some brilliant achievements, the day was a great reminder of what Team Aspire is all about.
Learning, teamwork, energy, recognition and having some fun along the way.
A huge thank you to everyone who made the day such a success, and congratulations again to our padel champions and award winners.
We’re proud of what Team Aspire continues to achieve together.
