Primary PE & Sport Premium confirmed for 2025/26: What it means for your school.

Funding confirmed - Time to plan.

Yesterday (11th June 2025), the Government officially confirmed the continuation of the Primary PE and Sport Premium for the 2025/26 academic year. This welcome news ensures schools can continue to invest in high-quality PE, School Sport and Physical Activity provision for their pupils.

The Youth Sport Trust, afPE and the wider National Sector Partners Group have welcomed the announcement, recognising its vital role in helping schools deliver meaningful, inclusive, and sustainable PE provision.

Funding remains at its current level, £320 million for the academic year, and will continue to be paid to all eligible schools. The funding will be paid in two tranches: one this Autumn, with the second payment due in Spring 2026.
